• Is testing required for admissions?

  We do not administer or require an entrance exam.  We rely on data from the most recent standardized tests, report cards, and a school recommendation to confirm grade placement.   If we still have questions about grade placement after review of these documents, we may ask for additional testing.  

• What is your high school graduation rate and what colleges do students attend?

  Our graduation rate is 100%. In the past three years, 90% of our graduates have chosen to attend a variety of colleges across the country, including Emory University, Georgetown University, Trinity Christian College, Calvin University, University of IL at Chicago, and University of IL at Urbana-Champaign.  We fully celebrate our students who do not choose to pursue college, but instead enter the workforce, join the military, or enter the missions field.

• Are you recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and are you an accredited institution?

  Yes! We are registered with and recognized by ISBE. We are accredited by two organizations: AdvancED and CSI (Christian Schools International).

• What is the student to teaching faculty ratio?

  At our high school campus, the student to teacher ratio is 13 to 1.

• What support services are available?

  The Academic Support Center (ASC) provides support for students with documented learning needs. The ASC will create an Accommodation Plan (similar to an Individual Education Program or IEP) for each student. The ASC functions as a guided study hall, with some students given additional support in study skills. Students in ASC may receive accommodations such as extra time on tests, preferential seating, taking tests in the ASC, and receiving extra help on homework during the school day. The ASC exists to support students that are able to meet normal classroom requirements.

• What sports and extracurricular programs do you have?

  High school sports include men and women’s basketball, soccer, bowling, track and cross country, volleyball, men’s baseball, golf, and football, and women’s softball, tennis, and cheerleading. The high school also has over 18 clubs and activities for students to get involved, including student council, National Honor Society, Jazz Band, Mock Trial, Pep Band, Improv Team, Art Club and more!  Click here to visit the Student Life page for more information.

• What is the Pass It On Thrift Center and How Does it Reduce Tuition?

  Pass it On Thrift Center (PIO) is a resale shop located in Crestwood, IL. PIO is run by an all-volunteer staff. Each year, PIO provides financial support to our schools for the purpose of keeping tuition costs accessible.

• What is T.R.I.P. and how can it help reduce tuition costs?

• Do you have an International Student Program?

  Yes! CCHS is accepting international students for 9th through 11th grade. More information can be found on our International Admissions Page. We believe that the inclusion of students from other countries enriches the school experience for all of our students. We typically have from 3 to 6 international students at CCHS annually. There are opportunities for our local families to host students in their homes.

• Where is your school located and what amenities does your campus offer?

  SCCS has three separate campuses. The high school campus is located on 17 acres in the beautiful suburb of Palos Heights, Illinois (on Route 83 between S. Harlem and S. Ridgeland.) Our building is 88,000 square feet and includes a professional auditorium, multiple labs (dedicated to engineering, sciences, and technology), a full-service cafeteria, and a library/media center.  Our athletic facilities include two full-size gymnasiums, a weight/training area, a football stadium, an 8-lane track, five tennis courts, and fields for both baseball and soccer. Additionally, our very own Schaaf Fields, located just down the street on Route 83, has state-of-the-art facilities for baseball, softball, and soccer.

• Are you connected to a church or denomination?

  Although many of our families attend churches in the Reformed tradition, we are not affiliated with any one church. Our faculty teach from a Reformed Christian perspective. However, we welcome families from many different Christian denominations. Families at SCCS represent over 20 denominations including Baptist, Non-Denominational, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Lutheran, Christian Reformed, and more.

• Do students wear uniforms or do you have a dress code?

  Our students do not wear uniforms. Our dress code is fairly simple and based on neatness and modesty.

• What are school hours?

  High school hours are 8:25am to 3:00pm.
