Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Southwest Chicago Christian Schools and Chicago Christian High School!  We look forward to getting to know you.

List of 7 items.

  • Step 1: Visit a Campus

This step is optional, but we would love to meet you!  Choose to take a tour, shadow a student, view one of our virtual open houses, or another option. Learn how to visit SCCS.
  • Step 2: Inquire About Our School

Whether you complete an online inquiry, or simply call or email the Association Office, we will set you up with a personal account to our online system. We will follow up the conversation or online inquiry with an email giving you a personal login and password. From your personal account, you can view scheduled campus visits, see a checklist of items needed to apply, and complete an application.
  • Step 3: Access the Online Application System & Submit an Application

Log into your account with your login and password (you will have received an automated email from our system to set up your login and password). From here you can complete an application and work through your personalized checklist. The checklist will show you exactly what documents are needed for your application and any additional steps needed. For example, we may request a recommendation from a current teacher or a copy of a student’s birth certificate. The checklist will be personalized for the student and the entering grade.

All families new to the SCCS school community can expect an informal interview with the campus principal and complete a request to their pastor for a recommendation on behalf of the family.
  • Step 3a. Pay the Application Fee

    • Applications submitted by May 31st:  $250 ($125 is a tuition down payment and $125 is a processing fee.)
    • Applications submitted by June 30th:  $500 ($375 is a tuition down payment and $125 is a processing fee.)
    • Applications submitted by July 15th: $1,000 ($875 is a tuition down payment and $125 is a processing fee.)
    • NOTE:  Preschool applications remain at $250 year-round.  Applications are accepted most of the calendar year.
  • Step 3b. Notification of Acceptance

Wondering when you will hear about your application? For fall admissions, the Admissions Office will begin notifying families of their acceptance status in April.  We will continue notifying families throughout spring and early summer.  This timeframe allows current families to re-enroll and for our Business Office to determine which classes have space for additional students.
  • Step 4: Say Yes!

Once the application is fully processed, SCCS will determine the appropriate grade placement for the student candidate. If SCCS accepts the student candidate, please log into the online system and officially accept the offer.
  • Step 5: Enroll

After you accept the offer in the online system, the Association Office will send you an enrollment contract. Once you submit the enrollment documents, the student is fully enrolled and has a seat reserved for them. (There is no enrollment fee for new students.)

    Additional information:
    • Bus transportation routes are detemined in late July each summer.  Only fully enrolled students are considered when setting up the routes.
    • New students are invited to participate in on-campus activities prior to the start of the school year, such as high school sports camps, club outings and activities, freshman lock-in, etc.  Only fully enrolled students are allowed to attend these activities due to insurance considerations.

Entrance Examinations

High School - No, we do not administer or require an entrance exam.  We rely on a school recommendation, plus the most recent standardized test scores and report cards.  This allows us to verify grade and class placement.  (On rare occasions, we will administer a test to determine support needed or grade placement.)

Elementary School - Our elementary campuses to administer tests to verify grade placement.  This is part of the application process.

Tuition Assistance

We offer Tuition Assistance to make a Christian education accessible to more families.  New students have an opportunity to apply for Tuition Assistance during the Application process.
