Academics

As a Christian school rooted in the Reformed Christian tradition, we teach every class from a Biblical perspective. We learn about God’s order in mathematics and science and His beauty in art. We see God’s faithfulness in history and learn about keeping our body as a temple in physical education. Our committed faculty invest in every student, every day.
At Southwest Chicago Christian, we offer an academically challenging program that is well-rounded with core class in addition to physical education, and fine arts opportunities – theatrical productions, art, band, and choir.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW)

Our curriculum includes the integration of a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program. We partner with PLTW, a nationally recognized program, starting in middle school. The program taps into a students’ natural inclination to explore. From constructing a rescue method for a trapped zoo animal to designing a home created from a reclaimed shipping container, students test their limits and learn from failed attempts and persistence. Students connect what they learn in the classroom to making a real impact on the world.
