Bob Regnerus '87
I’m Bob Regnerus, CCHS class of ‘87. I am the 3rd generation of my family to call CCHS home. My Grandma Kiers attended when the school was in Roseland. My mom, Ruth, and father, Bob, both graduated from CCHS. I met my wife, Arlene (Brummerstedt), at CCHS, and we were married in 1992. Our daughters Bethany and Anna are now 4th generation alumni. CCHS has been integral to our family history!

Chicago Christian impacted me in many ways. In addition to gaining some lifelong friends, I received a well-rounded education that prepared me for my future. I love that CCHS is a small school where you have space to be who you are and find people to encourage you on your path.

CCHS has made so many positive changes since I attended, but its core has always been about relating to our Creator, finding our Spiritual gifts, developing relationships, and engaging with amazing teachers. Jim Kwasteniet, Mark Hiskes, Gary and John Meyer, Miss DeYoung, Miss Louters, and Miss Van Loh were ones that I especially connected with. I also developed my love for coaching by playing for Bill Hoffman and the great Will Slager.

Because of that, many now know me as Coach Regnerus as I am currently the boys sophomore basketball coach at Chicago Christian. This is my second stint at the school as I held the same position from 1998-2004. I wouldn’t have had this opportunity without the friendships I developed at CCHS with Coach Jack LeGrand and Coach Kevin Pittman back in the ’80s. At my core, God wired me to coach and build people up. I do that with my athletes and with my business clients. This gift was activated when I was a student at CCHS.

After high school, I graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago and worked at a few corporate jobs as a programmer, but I eventually left the corporate life and ventured out as an entrepreneur specializing in Digital Advertising. I recently have celebrated the publishing of my 5th book, and that would make Mr. Meyer’s head spin!

It has been amazing being involved at CCHS as a student, parent, and coach. I’m a Knight for life and I’m so excited for its future and how God continues to impact the world through our staff, students, and athletes!
