Maggie Donnelly '02 Kelly
I walked into CCHS as a freshman after attending public schools through 8th grade. I knew two friends and my older brother. Nervous would be an understatement. Getting involved in volleyball that first fall helped surround me with new friends and a team. By the time softball rolled around in the spring, I was feeling more like myself. By graduation four years later, CCHS was home.

The classes I took at CCHS were the building blocks for everything that has come after. Without computer and technology classes at CCHS, I would not feel comfortable working on my blog or podcast, projects I truly love doing. Without homemaking, I wouldn’t have gotten the skills I now have to cook delicious meals for my family, one of my favorite hobbies. Without accounting classes, I wouldn’t have the knowledge to have started and manage my business.

Four years after walking into a new school at CCHS, I started all over again, knowing no one at Monmouth College. However, this time I wasn’t nervous at all. My time at Chicago Christian had helped shape me into a confident young woman who could handle the unknown. I received degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry before moving to Champaign-Urbana.

Currently, I run my own organizing business, Organizing CU, and host its podcast, Organizing Confidence Unlimited. I work with busy moms to help them get and stay organized. After having my kid, I realized that I was as organized as ever and wanted to help other moms get more time for themselves and their families. I also work as a senior legal assistant at the Federal Public Defender’s office. We are appointed to represent criminal defendants when they are charged with federal crimes.

While my time at CCHS gave me knowledge, I’m most proud of the principles CCHS instilled, specifically the desire to help others, which has been one of the core values of my life.
