Featured Alumna - April 2022

Katie Vree ‘13
I graduated from Chicago Christian in 2013. During my time at Chicago Christian I played volleyball and had the experience of taking a few trips down state, which made for some wonderful memories. I also participated in several mission trips to Guatemala. Both trips encouraged me to branch out of my comfort zone and be the arms of Jesus. I was also blessed to have worked with many teachers that challenged me spiritually and academically. Mrs. Iannarone always encouraged me to work hard and do my best even when life was hard. She knew every weakness paved the way for strength, and these are lessons I continue to cling to as an adult everyday in my personal and professional life.

After high school graduation I attended Trinity Christian College where I studied Nursing and Health Communications. I graduated in 2017 and continued to pursue a lifelong interest in healthcare. I started working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as part of the Digestive Health Center and haven’t looked back. I recently accepted a new position as Operations Manager, and I am looking forward to seeing where God uses me as healthcare moves to rebuild in this ever changing world we live in.

My years at Chicago Christian instilled core values in myself that allow me to continue to grow and be successful in my professional life. I am continually reminded that God goes before us in all circumstances every day. There is not a moment or situation where He has not paved the way. We serve a known God in an unknown world. I have a strong community behind me, and I am so grateful for the lessons Mrs. Iannarone taught me.  All the extra algebra homework really did teach me perseverance.
