SCCS and CCHS have a number of openings for the 2020-21 school year due in large part to faculty retirements, growth in enrollment, and expansion of academic and social support as part of our strategic plan.

  • Preschool Lead Teacher-Oak Lawn Campus

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Oak Lawn is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher.  This position joins the preschool team to participate in the practices of a professional learning community.  Ideal candidates are certified early childhood teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning.   Applicants must profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and meet all criteria for employment as required by the Southwest Chicago Christian School Association. A Bachelor’s degree in Education/Early Childhood Education and a teaching certificate are required. This position starts out at 0.6 FTE with the potential for it to be fulltime based on enrollment.

  • Academic Support Center Teacher PS-8th - Oak Lawn Campus PART TIME

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Oak Lawn is accepting applications for a 50% part-time position in our Academic Support Center.  This position joins the student support services team to provide teachers with the means to recognize the range of learning needs and provide support through accommodations/instructional options to meet particular student needs. Ideal candidates are certified Special Education teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning. ASC teachers also administer other assessments like the Kauffman Test of Educational Achievement (K-TEA), WADE, Conners, and the Woodcock Johnson Test of Cognitive Abilities.

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Oak Lawn is accepting applications for a full-time 1st-grade classroom teacher.  SCCS is a Christ-centered learning community intent on restoring God’s world. This position joins the first grade team to participate in the practices of a professional learning community.  Ideal candidates are certified teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning.

    Potential Full-Time Position depending on 2020/21 enrollment:

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Tinley Park is accepting applications for a possible opening for a full-time 4th grade classroom teacher.  This position joins the fourth-grade team to participate in the practices of a professional learning community.  Ideal candidates are certified teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning.

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Tinley Park is accepting applications for a full-time middle school teacher.  This position includes teaching seventh- and eighth-grade reading and language arts (possibly social studies or Bible or math).  SCCS teachers participate in the practices of a professional learning community. Ideal candidates are certified teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning.

  • Academic Support Center Teacher PS-8th - Tinley Park Campus

    Southwest Chicago Christian School in Tinley Park is accepting applications for a full-time position in our Academic Support Center.  This position joins the student support services team to provide English and Math instruction so that students are able to reach grade-level standards, using the following curricula: Touch Math, Math U See, Read Naturally, Wilson Reading.  Ideal candidates are certified Special Education teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning. ASC teachers also administer other assessments like the Kauffman Test of Educational Achievement (K-TEA), WADE, Conners, and the Woodcock Johnson Test of Cognitive Abilities.  SCCS will consider a part-time contract for one year, moving to a full-time contract the following year, in order for the right candidate to pursue certification in Wilson Reading or other needed certifications.

  • Choir Accompanist

    Southwest Chicago Christian School is seeking an accompanist for our two high school choirs (including Concerts, Choir Show and Fine Arts performances) as well as playing for concert performances for our two middle school choirs.  The two high school choirs meet on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and will entail approximately two hours each morning.  Performances of high school and middle school choirs, as well as Choir Show and Fine Arts, are scheduled throughout the year.  Applicants must profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and meet all the criterion for employment as required by the Southwest Chicago Christian School Association.  If interested, please fill out a Support Staff Application form at the bottom of this page and submit it to choir director Maria Luttjeboer via e-mail at mluttjeboer@swchristian.org
  • Athletic Coaches

    Chicago Christian High School has the following open coaching poistions:

  • Bus Drivers

    Our Transportation Department seeks drivers for regular morning and afternoon route, in addition to athletic and extra-curricular events.  A valid CDL and bus permit is desirable , but we are willing to train!  Pay ranges from $15 to $17 per hour.  Interested parties should contact Laura Conley, Transportation Coordinator, at 708.636.8622 or LConley@swchristian.org.
